Sad news, Trenton (DOZER) Beaver lost his batttle with the brain tumors he so bravely fought. Many followed his story in Western Mule and sent prayers and concern. Our condolences go to his family and friends. May they have strength and support to help ease their pain.
Here we go with 2012. It has started out with beautiful weather for the New Years Day ride at Hoffman. The Member's meeting had a good turn out with a lot of enthusiasm for a fun filled year. Here are some of the meeting decisions. The 2012 schedule was approved , Added is a new ride at the Chattooga River in Mtn. Rest, SC . Some ride dates were switched around so take a good look at it. The new board members are, Danny Tart, Luann Royal and re elected are Pete Holt and Dave Owens. Our new president will be Holly Fisher, Teddy Royal was re elected to V.P, Shannon Hoffman is our new secretary, Karen Reeder will take over the treasurer position, Sandra Hyder will continue to do the newsletter. Trails committee: Dave Owens,Teddy Royal, Max Livengood. Safety: Barry Greene, Steve Hyder. Awards: Karen Reeder. Web: Holly Fisher. . Membership: Shannon Hoffman. Show: Karen Reeder, Annette Bradsher, Linda Challand, Sandra Hyder, Jack Summers, Holly Fisher. Nominating: Karen Reeder, Jack Summers, Luann Royal, Pete Holt and everyone that has an idea. Input welcome to all committees. The fund raiser this year will be the Horse/Mule show Oct 20th at Flintrock Farm. Our donations this year will be $150.00 to NASMA(North American Saddle Mule Assoc.) to help support the national mule show in Shelbyville, TN. $100.00 to SCDMA(South Carolina Donkey&Mule Assoc.) to sponsor a class at the South Carolina State Fair Mule and Donkey Show. A theraputic riding group will be supported as well, which one will be announced at the April Uwharrie board meeting..
